The women chief executives of the Fortune 500
The 56 women who run a company on the 2026 Fortune 500, listed in the order of the company's rank.

How this list was made
The rule: Fortune 500 rank, highest first
To be on this list, a woman is the chief executive of a company on Fortune's 2026 Fortune 500, as the company's Fortune profile names its chief executive on October 24, 2026. Fortune's own list data marks each of these companies as led by a woman; one company, Danaher, has a new chief executive the list data does not mark yet, and its own leadership page confirms her.
The order is the company's rank on the 2026 Fortune 500, which Fortune sets by revenue. Each entry links the company's Fortune profile.

Questions about this list
- Why 56 and not the number in Fortune's list data?
- Fortune's 2026 list data marks 57 companies as led by a woman. On two of them, Dow and Insight Enterprises, the company's Fortune profile names a man as chief executive on October 24, 2026, so they are not here. Danaher is here though the list data does not mark it: its Fortune profile names Julie Sawyer Montgomery chief executive, and its own leadership page names her president and chief executive.
- Why does DuPont's link read dow-chemical?
- That is Fortune's own address for DuPont's profile, fortune.com/company/dow-chemical/. It opens DuPont's profile, which names Lori D. Koch chief executive.
- Which year's Fortune 500 is this?
- The 2026 Fortune 500, which ranks the largest US companies by revenue. Fortune updates its company profiles during the year, so a chief executive who started after the list was published can appear here.
- How often is this list checked?
- Every quarter, and the same day a listed chief executive's role changes. The date at the top says when it was last checked.
- Can a company pay to be added?
- No. Entries come from the rule and the public record, never from a request or a payment.
