How we rank

Every list follows the same three rules, and every list shows the page that proves each entry.

  1. A source for every entry

    Each name links the public record it comes from: a company filing, an official page or a reference work, read on the date shown.

  2. A rule for every order

    Each list says why one entry sits above another before the list begins: a date, a count or a public figure.

  3. Nothing private

    No guessed ages, no estimated fortunes, no rumors. If a fact is not on the record, it is not on the list.

Find a mistake? The editors correct a list in public, with the date of the change.
